Your tour will begin in Rabat, the capital of Morocco. Your driver will meet you at the airport or your hotel and take you on a scenic drive to Meknes, one of Morocco's most historic cities. Explore the city's grand palaces, impressive gates, and ancient granaries before continuing to the nearby ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From there, you'll head to Fez, where you'll spend the night.
Today you'll explore the ancient medina of Fez, the cultural and spiritual center of Morocco. You'll visit the famous tanneries, the Bou Inania Medersa, and the oldest university in the world, Al Quaraouiyine. In the afternoon, you'll have free time to explore the city at your leisure.
After breakfast, you'll head south toward the stunning landscapes of the Sahara Desert. You'll pass through the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas Mountains, stop in Ifrane, known as the "Switzerland of Morocco," and see the Barbary macaques in Azrou. In the afternoon, you'll reach Midelt, where you'll stop for lunch, before continuing to Erfoud and the famous dunes of Merzouga. Here you'll enjoy a camel ride to your desert camp for the night, where you'll enjoy dinner under the stars.
Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the sand dunes before returning by camel to Merzouga. You'll then travel through the Ziz Valley and the Todra Gorge, a 300-meter-deep canyon carved into the mountains. In the afternoon, you'll continue on to the Dades Gorge, where you'll spend the night in a traditional kasbah.
After breakfast, you'll head to Ouarzazate, known as the "Hollywood of Morocco," where you'll visit the famous Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and backdrop for many famous movies. In the afternoon, you'll cross the High Atlas Mountains to Marrakech, where you'll spend the night.
Today you'll explore the vibrant city of Marrakech, starting with the famous Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, and the Koutoubia Mosque. You'll also visit the colorful souks and the lively Jemaa el-Fnaa square, where you can try local street food and watch traditional performances.
Take a break from the hustle and bustle of Marrakech with a day trip to the coastal city of Essaouira. This charming city is known for its beautiful beaches, vibrant harbor, and stunning architecture, and was once a popular haunt for artists and musicians. You'll have the chance to explore the UNESCO-listed Medina, stroll along the seafront, and sample fresh seafood at one of the local restaurants. we will get back to Marrakech where you will spend the night.
After breakfast, you'll leave Marrakech and head to Casablanca, the economic and cultural capital of Morocco. Here, you'll visit the impressive Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world, with stunning ocean views. You'll also have the opportunity to explore the city's vibrant Corniche and its art deco architecture. In the evening, you'll check into your hotel in Casablanca for a well-deserved rest.
From Casablanca, you'll travel to Rabat, the political capital of Morocco. Along the way, you'll stop in the city of Mohammedia for lunch and a stroll along the beach. In Rabat, you'll visit the Kasbah of the Udayas, the ancient ruins of Chellah, and the Royal Palace, which is still used as the residence of the King of Morocco. You'll also have time to explore the bustling medina and shop for souvenirs, after luch you'll travel to the picturesque blue city of Chefchaouen, nestled in the Rif Mountains. Once you arrive in Chefchaouen, you'll have time to explore the maze-like streets of the medina, relax in a rooftop café, and take in the stunning views
After breakfast, you'll depart Chefchaouen and travel to Tangier, a port city that has been an important gateway between Africa and Europe for centuries. In Tangier, you'll visit the Kasbah Museum, the Caves of Hercules, and the Grand Socco market. You'll also have the opportunity to take a stroll along the beach and soak up the Mediterranean atmosphere.
After breakfast, you'll be transferred to the airport in Tangier for your departure flight, marking the end of your 11 day desert tour of Morocco.
